How old is this olive tree?

Some say that the width of this huge olive tree on Zakynthos indicates that it is 2,000 years old, though width is not a scientific indicator of age. The accurate way to determine age, examining a cross section, would actually require killing the tree. Still, I like to think of this grove in Zakynthos as being ancient, and not just old. The oldest olive tree in Greece is said to be The Olive Tree of Vouves on Crete which is believed to be 3,000 years old.
