I was lucky enough to be in Athens while the famous François Vase was on display at the Goulandris Museum of Cycladic Art.

This huge Attic black-figure volute krater was made in the 6th century BCE, and has over 200 named figures, more than any other object of its kind. The photo is a detail of the handle, and the image is the “Mistress of Animals,” Ἡ Πότνια Θηρῶν. The object's permanent home is the Museo Archeologico in Florence.
