The Light of Olympia, by Takis Doxas

In 1960, Takis Doxas (1913-1976) wrote The Light of Olympia, a poem revering the lighting of the flame in Olympia, Greece. Beginning with the 1964 games, this poem has been part of each Olympiad. Oddly, there are few digital sources for the poem and its official English translation that was done by my friend, Athan H. Anagnostopoulos PhD, founder of The Greek Institute in Cambridge MA. We are currently in the process of remedying this. Until then, enjoy this excerpt.
